Maisie Williams isn’t against reprising her role as Arya Stark in the Game of Thrones spin-off series centered on Jon Snow.
Will Arya Stark make her return to the universe of Game Of Thrones ? It was recently announced that Kit Harington was planning his return as Jon Snow in a series that would follow Game Of Thrones. As of now, HBO hasn’t given the show an official green light, but the idea of this series seeing the light of day has people wondering who might be returning.
Currently titled Snow, this series is the idea of Kit Harington himself who wishes to continue the adventures of his character. Harington discussed his idea with Emilia Clarke who was one of the first to know about the project. Gwendoline Christie also said she was excited about the news and would “savor” the opportunity to return as Brienne of Tarth if called upon by HBO.
In a new interview with People, Maisie Williams joined her former co-stars in expressing her excitement for Jon Snow’s series. She is happy with the news because she feels there is still so many stories » to tell in the universe of Game Of Thrones involving the survivors of the original series.
Williams continues to praise Harington and makes it clear that she’s looking forward to the spin-off: “Everything about history [de GOT] is very exciting. We’ve had such a rich series, and there are still so many stories to tell. I think that’s really exciting, and I think Kit is such a phenomenal actor. Him playing Jon Snow was like a cultural reset. I think everything he touches is magic, and I can’t wait to see how it turns out. »
If it sees the light of day, this series would give Williams the opportunity to reprise her role as Arya Stark. The latter might agree to come back if asked, but that would depend on coming up with the right idea for Arya’s return, and she’s not quite sure that’s the case yet, explaining that she’s still learning who Arya really is, especially from the fans.
“It’s obviously a very exciting prospect, so I never say never. I still learn so much from the fans I meet…and they always tell me about the parts of the show that they love, the parts of the show that were meaningful to them, and the parts of Arya’s journey that were meaningful to theirs , » says Williams.
“I feel like I’m learning all of this for the first time in a way right now. So I’m still piecing together what I think it should be, what I think would make people happy and what I think would also be fulfilling, as an actress, to kind of do transition. »
She wants something new for Arya: “We can’t just do the same thing we did – it has to be new. But what parts would we want to take with us and what parts would we do differently? So I think I’m still figuring that out. »
So there is always hope of seeing Arya again, but it will depend on how her story is handled so as not to repeat what has already been done. But before arriving there, the series must have the approval of the chain and it is not yet the case. Kit Harington works there.
