news culture Game Of Thrones: George RR Martin confirms the spin-off on Jon Snow and gives a first title
The Hollywood Reporter recently revealed that a Game of Thrones spin-off centered on the character of Jon Snow is in the works. This project has since been confirmed by George RR Martin himself. The author revealed many details on his blog, including a first title.
HBO definitely does not intend to abandon its goose that lays the golden egg so easily. With the upcoming arrival of the prequel House of the Dragon, The universe of Game of Thrones should be a new series with a spin-off centered on Jon Snow. This time around, this project should offer a true sequel to the events depicted over the course of the series.
Since this series was highlighted by The Hollywood Reporter, the canvas goes completely crazy. After the numerous reactions, the main interested parties began to react directly. This is particularly the case of Emilia Clarke, iconic interpreter of Queen Daenerys Targaryen, whose lover Jon Snow is. In particular, the latter revealed that the project was carried by Kit Harington himself. Whoever played Jon Snow for the eight seasons of the main series would therefore be keen to find the character who revealed him, and perhaps bring a more “satisfying” end for a large part of the fans of the series. .
If the most skeptical could still doubt the existence of this show, these statements have since been confirmed by George RR Martin himself on his blog. The statements of the author, who has worked closely with HBO since the first season of the adaptation, corroborate the statements of actress Emilia Clarke: HBO is indeed working on this spin-off, Kit Harington is in charge… the author even offered fans a first title: the show is soberly titled “Snow“.
George RR Martin, perhaps annoyed by the incessant leaks, allowed himself many indiscretions regarding HBO’s future projects around the universe he created. Besides the various animation series, in particular, he confirmed once again the existence of three known projects : sea-snake, Ten Thousand Ships and The Hedge Knight. If these programs have already been disclosed directly or indirectly and have been in the works for some time, the author points out that the start of construction of Snow dates from the same period, but had not yet been unveiled.
The author specifies in passing that he is involved in all of these projects, but declares that he cannot reveal the names of the people involved “without the authorization of HBO”. On the other hand, it gives another important information. Each of these series are still in the writing phase and HBO has not given any green light yet. These series could therefore simply be aborted. According to the author, it would be idyllic to see these four series released, but “that’s not how things usually work”. We obviously hope that each of these projects will see the light of day, but the respective productions of these programs should, for the time being, greatly depend on the success of House of the Dragon scheduled for next August.
